Biography

Dr. Merritt Turetsky is the Director of the Institute of Arctic and Alpine Research at the University of Colorado Boulder. She is an ecosystem ecologist and carbon cycle scientist with several decades of experience working across the Boreal and Arctic biomes.  Her research explores the impacts of changing disturbance regimes on high latitude regions and the Earth’s climate system, as well as how these changes impact ecosystem services and northerners who depend on the land.
